Editorial
There's life in the old site yet
Well, AltOS is returning to life after a five month break. For
the next few weeks we will be concentrating on getting the new design
right, updating old sections and adding new guides. Features such as
the News Zone will gradually appear over the next month.
Thanks to all the people who sent
encouraging emails and suggestions, and so persuaded me that AltOS
was worth continuing. You should see your ideas appearing
soon.
Rebuild news
The News Review is now back, although the layout needs some work.
The Resources zone replaces the Features zone, and this time contains
working links and content. Non-Open Content information is labeled
with a large red copyright logo and separate legal disclaimer.
A UK based Amazon bookshop will be here
soon, hopefully. The new bookshop will be more flexible.
The UNIX versus Windows NT organisation has
kindly allowed AltOS to mirror the Kirch Paper.
OS/2, NewtonOS, Magic and MiNT OS guides
are under way, and a mini-mini guide to AIX is almost ready. The
credits page now lists contributors. Thanks to Konrad
M.Kokoszkiewicz, Chun Fong, Andy McGill and Simon Hardie.
Pete Birkinshaw, AltOS Editor.
